Saturday music: Willie Nelson

  1. Thank you very much for that link. I never, ever knew that Willie Nelson once wore a suit and tie. I was first introduced to his music in the '70s while working offshore in the North Sea oil patch and heard "Outlaw music" from him and Waylon. It kind of changed my listening for a few years from the likes of Geo Jones with Gene Pitney who had been my favourites.
    It is fascinating that his voice on the link you have given sounds just as good as most recordings he ever made of that song over the years.
    For personal reasons, "Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain" remains my perennial Willie favourite song.

  2. My goodness, I wouldn't have recognized Willie in a million years! Actually, I like his voice better now, the ages have put just the right rough edge on it.
